Talents and Interests

Talents and Interests - No one who is not gifted, which distinguishes whether or not there is interest to develop it. Talent is that humans possess an innate potential, while the interest created by the strong interest on something. Both of these factors are often associated with a person's intelligence and success. For myself, it's smart people who are able to understand, develop and utilize his talents for the benefit and happiness of his life, and successful person is one who is able happiest of his life. Success could be because of talent, but often also because of interest. If so, how it emerged and established talent in us? How can we develop them?

Scientifically, the experts (quoted from www. Kesehatan.kompas.com) states that at birth we have 100 billion neurons. Three months or 60 days before the birth, the neurons that we have had to communicate with each other. They even form a fabric called axons. When the braid is formed, an auto-synapses were formed. In the age of three, each of 100 billion neurons that we have created a network of synapses with other neurons. Connections between neurons is at the beginning of the emergence of talent. The signs, we will actively look amazing. Interwoven synapses will continue to encourage us not to stop doing whatever we want according to our interests. This process continued until we reach 16 years of age. In this age begin to hone talent because we have more space to focus and really exploit some specific synapses after experiencing the process of trying to decide, trying to do everything, and we do not focus to finalize a specific competency value. From this process, we can understand that the interest is a factor that can drive talent. In some sense, the interest is a special emphasis on a certain thing that is created with full willingness and depends on the talent and the environment. Thus, interests and talents are factors that influence each other, regardless of which one is more dominant factor. Both are essential for even the most developed optimally.

In reality, talent or talents is often interpreted as nature, that certain unique abilities, skills, gift (grace) a person has. This understanding has developed significantly with the advent of understanding according to Gallup (2001) that the talent is thinking, feeling and repetitive behavior and can increase productivity. Based on such understanding, then the talent is not only about the specific skills, but also deals with the role to develop. In this case, interest is an important factor that serves as that will help nurture the development of talent. Interest is a concentration accidentally born with the will, a sense of interest, desire, and pleasure. Common trait of interest is a great concern, have high expectations, success-oriented, have kebangggaan, willingness to try and have a positive consideration. Interest can be regarded as a strong impetus for someone to do everything in realizing the goals and ideals of a desire.

The existence of interest is a major factor for the development of talent because without interest, talent will not be fruitfully. That is, the higher interest will enable us to do something even if we are not talented, gifted no interest would otherwise be difficult to develop these talents. Therefore, when we recognize and understand our talents, cultivate and guard our interests so that the talent that we have maintained. Interest can be created, but an innate talent that we can not create a sudden. Everyone can do the same thing with us, but the talented can produce better quality. To understand the talents and interests is not easy because the problem is not just a matter of number theory and aptitude tests to identify and measure our interests. More than that, there are very important to our understanding of how to develop talent and interest to a life of achievement because not everyone is able to maximize his talent, though he has to recognize and know.To develop talents and interests, it takes some of the following factors. 

First, stimulation. Stimulant factors talents and interests can be internal or external. The main stimulant is awareness of the potential, learn and keep learning, concentration and focus with the ability or excess we are. Do not always see the flaws, because our time is wasted, so, too, hidden talents and interests to be "sluggish". 

Second, try to be creative by finding inspiration from anywhere and from anyone. Creativity will lead our way to a recognition and understanding of the talents, develop interests, so that we can develop it so useful to our lives. Third, keep that honesty and sincerity. We must honestly admit that we have talent so we are not even interested. Sincerity can appreciate talent even need to foster interest in the process and time. A natural talent that will remain, can be developed and utilized to increase the strength of interest. For example, we can all write, but who are gifted can produce better writing than others. When the gift was accompanied with a strong interest, then the talent that will grow more rapidly and with quality. Talent that would invite the longing to do it again, as the energy supply needs.
